Harare, July 26: The ongoing five-match ODI series against India will help Zimbabwe Cricket (ZC) earn $8 million, according to a report in the local media. Zimbabwe Cricket (ZC) is set to earn at least US$8 million from the current five-match One-Day International (ODI) home series against world champions India, said a report in " Zimbabwe Independent." Efforts to get the exact amount ZC is likely to gross proved fruitless, but the association will pocket no less than US$8 million from television rights, advertising and sponsorship, the report added. "It has always been like that. We do not release such information, but whatever we get is always helpful," ZC board chairperson Peter Chingoka told the newspaper. "ZC will get around US$7 million in television rights and there are other financial benefits, for instance, the shirt sponsor Royal Stag is an Indian company which will pour in a substantial amount," said a source. India won the opening match by six wickets in Harare. The second match of the five-game series is being played today (Friday). The tour ends on August 3 in Bulawayo. India have sent a young team, led by Virat Kohli. MS Dhoni and several other regulars have been rested. ThatsCricket
