Karnataka Examinations Authority (KEA), Bangalore, has announced that the application form for Common Entrance Test (CET) 2014 will be issued from first week of February 2014. According to the sources, they are waiting for the consensual agreement to be signed. Once it is down, they will start issuing the application forms. KEA has proposal to increase the fee for CET test. From this year, fee for the CET will be increased to Rs 50/-. KEA officials said, proposal of increasing the fee for CET will be submitted to the government very soon.
KEA official said, "The fee collected from the students is the source for the KEA to conduct the test and source for income, which nets the KEA income by Rs 9 crore every year". Currently, KEA is charging Rs 750/- for other state candidates, Rs 650/- for state general candidates and Rs 500/- for SC / ST candidates. Candidates can get the brochure and application from their respective colleges within Karnataka. Every year, around 1.5 lakh candidates apply for CET. KEA had already announced the dates for CET 2014. CET 2014 test will be held from 1st, 2nd and 3rd May 2014.
KCET 2014 is conducted for admissions to first year undergraduate courses like Medical, Dental, Ayurveda, Homeopathy, Unani, Naturopathy & Yoga, Engineering / Technology, B.Sc Agriculture, Sericulture, Forestry, Horticulture, B.Pharma, D.Pharma for the academic year 2014-15.
